common cold children ocean seawaterGood news for parents, Atlantic Ocean salt water has been shown to effectively fight the common cold in children.  Study conducted by researchers at the Teaching Hospital Brno in the Czech Republic, led by Dr. Ivo Slapak, included 400 children between the ages of 6 and 10.  All of whom presented with symptoms of common cold.  Participants were divided in to two groups, one receiving conventional common cold treatment, the other, a nasal wash comprised of a saline solution derived from Atlantic Ocean seawater.  Patients were followed for a period of 12 weeks.
