Oral Contraceptives Protect Against Ovarian Cancer

Study done by the Cancer Research Epidemiology Unit at Oxford, indicates that oral contraceptive pills decrease woman’s risk of developing ovarian cancer. This positive effect may last for as long as 30 years after she has stopped taking the pill. The risk of ovarian cancer decreases by 29% for every 5 years of oral contraceptive use. It is estimated that the pill has prevented 200,000 women worldwide from developing ovarian cancer, so far. Read more
