The fan is not intended to generate more oxygen but to circulate the air so that carbon dioxide is moved away from the baby's face thereby allowing them to breathe fresh air. A ceiling fan eventually circulates ALL of the air in the room so yes, it is effective, and no, it does not need to be pointed right at the baby's face.</description>

		<description>I don't think that installing a fan in the baby’s room will give your baby any more oxygen. For the fan to be effective at all and make the air circulate faster around the baby's head, you would have to install it right next to the baby and direct it towards the baby's head. This would cause more damage than good. If, on the other hand, you install the fan somewhere in the room, it won't be effective at all. 
I think that this is one of those ideas that look good on paper but don't actually work. And even if they did, they would be completely unpractical.</description>
