Tainted Water Flows Through America

Outrage is spreading across the United States Senate floor faster than a summer wildfire. The Associated Press released a study indicating that tainted water is steadily flowing through American pipe line systems. The report stated that approximately 41 million American are consuming tainted drinking water from prescription medication and other drugs flowing through the pipelines.

At least two senators stand ready to take action against the Environmental Protecting Agency as a result. Senator Barbara Boxer of California and Senator Frank Lautenberg has expressed displeasure over the report findings. Both Senators expressed feelings shared by many. That is American families should be able to rely on the Environmental Protection Agency for safe living conditions. Tainted water supply is something the agency should take seriously.

The study was conducted by the Associated Press over the course of a five month period. It was further broken down into three smaller sections with the overall title of the study being Pharma Water. At least 24 major U.S. cities have prescriptions drugs such as antibiotics, anti-convulsing and mood stabilizers running through water supplies.

It is believed these and other medications entered into the system by people taking the prescription medication and flushing it out of the body through the toilet. From there, the medications entered into the water system where they were circulated around to drinking water.

Many water supplies do not disclose the fact that a certain percentage of prescription drug medications may be in a water system at any given time. Senator Boxer and Senator Lautenberg have called on the Environmental Protection Agency to take immediate steps towards rectifying this dangerous situation.
