The FDA approved esomeprazole (Nexium) to help short term gastroesophagel reflux disease (GERD) in children between the ages of 1 and 11. The drug was approved in 2 forms: the delayed release capsule and a magnesium liquid, in 10 and 20 mg doses.esomperazole (Nexium) for kids

This proton pump inhibitor was already approved for adolescents between the ages of 12 to 17. This approval shows promise to help children in managing the disease more effectively. The FDA approved Nexium on the basis of exploratory research demonstrating the drug’s effectiveness and safety for use with children. Previous studies showed improvement among the children who were administered Nexium.

The FDS suggests monitoring of these children over time to ensure that they do not have any adverse side effects. There are some side effects, although not ever patient will experience them, such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, gas, constipation and dry mouth.

Whenever my daughter has acid reflux, I give her 1 teaspoon of apple cidar vinegar. It works instantly. Our nation is drugged from cradle to grave by harmful pharmaceutical drugs. We’ve become a nation of drug addicts, and many have died as a result (e.g. Heath Ledger). How ignorant of all of us to believe that every ailment imaginable can be fixed with a pill - a pharmaceutical pill, of course. Yes, nothing else can possibly work. Or so we’ve been told. I’ve lowered my blood pressure with magnesium, my cholesterol with niacin (vitamin B6), and have increased my memory and mental clarity with fish oil (omega 3s). America needs to wake up and realize that it’s citizens are being systematically drugged into stupors where we can no longer think and act on our own. Look at every young male who shot up a classroom. Every one was rendered insane by a psychotropic drug. Every one. We’re blaming the shooters, when we should be blaming the doctors and drugs for this bad behavior. If any of us were to take those drugs right now, we’d all be shooting up schools because of the harmful impact to our brain chemistry.

Outrageous! I agree with Don! I was diagnosed with gastritis, GERD, Acid Reflux (all of it). My doctor ordered an endoscopy and then told me I have Barrett’s. This freaked me out and the anxiety made my condition worse. The medicine he gave me did not work so I changed my diet and started exercising. This did not help either. I needed relief and I was desperate, so I searched the internet for an answer. Then I found ginger juice. It sounded crazy but I had to try it. Apparently ginger juice has a 100% effective rate. Go to mynews2u.com and check out this link to see how you make ginger juice from ginger root.

After 3 or so days I was better! I continued to take the ginger juice every day for 3 weeks and now I am symptom free. It’s so amazing that I would call it miraculous. Try it. What do you have to loose. There are no harmful side effects taking ginger, like Nexium, Prilosec and other drugs. Give children and adults ginger!

I’ve suffered from acid reflux as well as stomach ulcers for years. I’ve been to no less than 5 doctors regarding my ulcers do to relocations for work. It is amazing how each doctor’s suggested treatment was identical to the previous doctor’s. As far as the GERD (acid reflux), I’ve been to several doctors all prescribing Prilosec. I will tell you that none of the acid reflux medications have worked for me. After spending thousands of dollars for “medical treatment” I finally decided to research my problems myself. Through my research I discovered that acid reflux is often mis-diagnosed by medical professionals. To understand why, we must first understand what acid is. Acid is the opposite of alkaline on the pH scale. Although alkali is its opposite it has the same effects on human tissue. Therefore a proper diagnosis cannot be made without a pH test. The medical “industry” has no such test for acid reflux. If a diagnosis of acid reflux is given and the patient’s pH balance is actually more alkali then the acid reflux medicine prescribed will actually make the problem worse by making an already alkali pH even more alkali. I’m sure you have already heard about the apple cider vinegar cure. Vinegar is an acid and therefore will not cure true acid reflux however if the patient is actually suffering from alkaline reflux, vinegar will lower the pH and have tremendous results. Ovbiously the confusion lies in that no medical terminology is yet available for “alkaline reflux”. I can tell you that I was one of the millions that was mis-diagnosed and have found relief from the apple cider vinegar cure.
